The abandoned church at Picher, a modern Oklahoma ghost town. Because of the contamination from leftover mine chat from the lead and zinc mines as well as the undermining the EPA put Picher on the Tar Creek Superfund list which prompted a mandatory buyout by the government in 1996.
In 2008 an F4 tornado hit the town causing considerable damage and in 2009 it was decided to shut down the school.
There's not much left of Picher now but few die hards who refuse to move and abandoned buildings.
