Men in Hats

My latest "Just For Fun” project is Men In Hats. My intent is to get pictures of men in their hats, men and boys working, having fun, natural stuff, not a dress up thing, really a just for fun thing. If you or someone you know is interested in participating, these sessions will be short,15-30 minutes. Sessions are absolutely free at my studio location or if I have time, at a location convenient to you. For working with me I will put a gallery online with the best pictures. Don’t expect a lot of pictures, what I’m looking for is one great picture, not a lot of ok pictures. You will have the opportunity to purchase prints but there’s no obligation at all. I won’t even ask. One of the reasons I do this is to promote my business so I ask for a model release and if you share the pictures on social media you give me credit, tag me and Dave’s LifeStyle Photography. If you or someone you know is interested in participating send me a message, text or call 580-513-7193.

Luke was one of the first who took me up on coming into my studio for a session. It took me forever to convince him to do this. It know it sounds silly to some that I want them to come without getting all dressed up and cleaned up but I’m looking for the real deal guy. No doubt, if you know Luke, he fits that description.

I photographed Jason right after he got in from work in his shop.

The inspiration for this project came from this picture I took while visiting in Kentucky. Dutch was in his natural environment in his barn. The light coming in through the door painted the picture of an awesome guy.

It's not just about the cowboys.

Trigger Ladd

I took a quick trip over to the Ladd’s home Friday morning to photograph a young bull rider, Trigger Ladd for my project. Trigger is a sure enough tuff young cowboy. I asked him if he’d ever been hurt while rodeoing. He told me he’d only had his arm broke a couple times.

I met Jack Palmer while photographing a family at the Frisco, Texas Heritage Village. Jack is another photographer and at 75 still taking his pictures... but not too anxious to get his taken. I think it's a photographer thing, always to stay on the backside of the camera.

Mike Carr

Mike is the owner of Carr’s Finishing Touch and Carr’s Performance in Howell Michigan. He’s been doing everything from vehicle basic maintenance to the restoring of hot rods, classic cars and roadsters.
